Minister to persecuted Christians to speak

David Witt, author and international speaker, will be a guest speaker in Northwestern College’s Christ Chapel Monday, April 12, at 10:05 a.m. The public is invited to attend.

Witt is the founder of Spirit of Martyrdom Ministries and the author of The Spirit of Martyrdom. He has spoken in over 1,800 churches and Christian ministries and has traveled to 41 nations.

Witt is an associate representative with The Voice of Martyrs, a Christian organization dedicated to assisting the persecuted church worldwide. Witt has traveled to 18 restricted nations and brought support and encouragement to believers in Laos, Sudan, Iran, Turkey and Azerbaijan. He has preached in underground church meetings and taught in Bible schools in Vietnam, China and Pakistan. Most recently, he met with persecuted Christians in India, Egypt, Israel, Iraq and Colombia.

“The church in America functions in greatest maturity when relationally connected to the persecuted family around the world,” says Witt. “Jesus is not returning for an arm or leg but for the bride of Christ.”

Witt graduated from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, Calif., was ordained as a pastor in 1994 and spent 14 years working in youth ministry. Witt was actively involved in Young Life, led mission trips to Denver and Mexico, and was an area coordinator for National Day of Prayer.
