Northwestern College students Renée Ausborn, a freshman humanities major from Lytton, Iowa; Sarah Fisher, a freshman music major from Aplington, Iowa; and Amy Nelson, a freshman Spanish major from Montevideo, Minn., competed in the National Association of Teachers of Singing Lewis and Clark spring auditions, held on April 5 at Dordt College.

Ausborn and Fisher are vocal students of Dr. Linell Gray Moss, adjunct voice instructor at Northwestern, and Nelson is a collaborative pianist.

Ausborn and Fisher were semifinalists in both the art song and musical theatre divisions, with Ausborn advancing to the final round in the art song division.

Students from the University of Nebraska, Wartburg, Morningside, Dordt, Briar Cliff and Buena Vista colleges also participated in the competition.
