Business professors receive award at conference

Dr. Graham Lemke and Vonda Post, members of the business faculty at Northwestern College, presented a paper and received an award at the Midwest American Accounting Association conference April 12 to 14 in St. Louis.

Lemke and Post spoke on “Making the Transition From Accounting to Finance: Cash Flow Analysis.” Their presentation was selected as the conference’s best paper on teaching and curriculum.

Lemke is in his third year on Northwestern’s faculty. The assistant professor previously taught at Penn State University and New York’s Binghamton University, where he received the university’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. He received a doctorate in economics from Binghamton, a master’s degree in finance from Cornell University, an M.B.A. from the University of Alberta, and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Alberta.

Post, an associate professor and chairperson of the business department, has been teaching at Northwestern for 16 years. She previously served as the college’s comptroller. A licensed CPA, Post earned a master’s degree in professional accounting from the University of South Dakota and a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern College.
