Northwestern spring enrollment highest in nine years

Northwestern College’s spring enrollment of 1,186 is its highest in nine years and an increase of 66 from last year.

Northwestern’s graduate school has a spring-semester record of 158 students pursuing a Master of Education degree. In addition, enrollment is also up in all areas, including undergraduates, full-time students, part-timers, residential students and those who are taking only online courses.

Ninety percent of Northwestern’s freshmen returned for the spring semester.

“It is exciting to see increases in all areas of the college, as well as strong retention rates,” says Mark Bloemendaal, dean of enrollment and marketing. “These numbers show that Northwestern’s high-quality programs, integration of faith and learning, and strong emphasis on community are attractive to students from all walks of life, and that we are doing a good job meeting students’ expectations.”
