NWC to host nursing mini-camp

Northwestern College’s nursing and admissions departments will host a nursing mini-camp for high school juniors and seniors interested in careers in nursing. The one-day event will be held on Friday, Nov. 18.

The camp, which runs from 8:45 a.m. to 2 p.m., offers students interested in nursing an opportunity to shadow practicing nurses and learn about career opportunities for health care professionals with B.S.N. (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) degrees.

Students will also meet with Northwestern nursing faculty and student-nurses and tour the college’s nursing arts laboratory, which includes human patient simulators. In addition, participants’ parents are invited to a luncheon where they will learn about scholarships and financial assistance for nursing students.

Interested high school juniors and seniors must pre-register by Friday, Nov. 4; space is limited. The registration fee is $20.
