Halperin and Dunn to present concert

The Northwestern College Student Activities Council will host the Back to School Tour, featuring Texas pop-rockers Tim Halperin and David Dunn, in Christ Chapel on Monday, Sept. 20, at 8 p.m. The concert is free, and the public is invited to attend.

Halperin and Dunn will also perform in chapel that morning at 10:05 a.m.

A native of Omaha, Halperin wrote and played music with several bands in high school while also playing and singing on a church worship team. Since becoming a student at Texas Christian University, he has established a growing fan base in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. His piano-based pop sound has been described as having a hint of jazz and reflecting the influences of musicians like Ben Folds, Elton John and Coldplay.

Halperin has released two EPs, “You are the Moon and Make or Break, and he had two songs featured on The Real World: New Orleans last month. He has performed with artists such as Jon McLaughlin, Matt Wertz, Andy Davis, the Ying Yang Twins and Green River Ordinance.
