NWC to host Turn Down the Music Tour

Northwestern College will host the Turn Down the Music Tour, featuring Christian musicians Shane & Shane and Matt Maher, with speaker David Nasser, Monday, April 27. The concert begins at 7 p.m. in Christ Chapel.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 the day of the show. They may be purchased at Northwestern’s student development office in the Rowenhorst Student Center and the Dove Bookstore, Orange City. They are also available online at www.nwciowa.edu/concerts. For more information, call 712-707-7200.

Shane & Shane—Shane Barnard and Shane Everett—have over 12 years of experience as recording artists, worship leaders and songwriters. Since 2002 they have recorded six albums and toured with artists like Mac Powell, Bebo Norman, Bethany Dillon and the David Crowder Band. Known for an acoustic worship style featuring soaring harmonies, Shane & Shane were nominated for a 2004 Dove Award for inspirational recorded song of the year for In the Garden/There is None Like You. They have had much radio airplay for songs such as Be Near and Mercy Reigns.

Shane & Shane run a recording studio and media company in Dallas and tour frequently. They also lead worship at Oaks Fellowship Church near Dallas and are training future worship leaders through the Oaks School of Leadership.

Matt Maher is a singer, songwriter and worship leader who released his first album, Empty and Beautiful, last year. Known for hit song Your Grace is Enough, Maher has written songs recorded by Chris Tomlin; Bethany Dillon; and Phillips, Craig and Dean. Maher has served with organizations like Worshiptogether.com, Spiritandsong.com, Passion, Youth Specialties and Adore Ministries. He is also a contributing artist for Life Teen, a high school youth movement that helped lead him to Jesus.

David Nasser escaped with his family from Iran in 1979 at the age of nine. He came to Christ at 18 and now is one of the nation’s leading Christian speakers. Involved in revivals, citywide rallies, camps and school assemblies, Nasser speaks to over 700,000 people annually.
