Nursing (tenure-track or term appointment)
Northwestern College invites applications for a tenure-track or term-appointment faculty position in nursing to begin in the fall of 2018. The ideal candidate holds a terminal degree in nursing, but ABDs and professionals with a master’s degree will be considered. The department is especially interested in candidates who can work collegially and effectively with others, in addition to carrying out scholarly activity, student advising and faculty governance responsibilities. The successful candidate can expect to teach courses (including clinicals) in the areas of med-surg, critical care or community health nursing. The normal faculty load is 24 credit hours per academic year. Hiring preference will be given to persons with a terminal degree and significant (more than 3 years) nursing experience.
The candidate will exhibit a love of Christ, an embrace of the Gospel, and support the college’s mission as expressed in our Statement of Christian Identity, Vision for Learning and Vision for Diversity. Northwestern College is affiliated with the Reformed Church in America. We seek faculty invested in teaching, a program of scholarly activity and the mission of excellence in the liberal arts, as a vital expression of commitment to Christ’s redemptive work in the world. Accordingly, Northwestern College seeks to more fully reflect the cultural and ethnic diversity of the body of Christ in its faculty, staff, administration and students. Candidates from historically underrepresented groups are enthusiastically encouraged to apply.
Apply online below and submit a letter of interest in which you (1) describe your teaching experience and (2) scholarly trajectory, and (3) discuss how the following statements would inform and shape your teaching and scholarship: our Statement of Christian Identity, Vision for Learning and Vision for Diversity.
