Northwestern College has a part-time opening for a therapist to work in student counseling services. This position would require 20 hours per week during the academic year (summers off), excluding college breaks. Responsibilities include providing therapy in a professional counseling setting for students facing psychological, adjustment and relational concerns. Duties also include providing crisis intervention, documentation of confidential client records, and administrative tasks as needed. Position comes with excellent administrative support and professional liability insurance.
Qualifications include a master’s degree in clinical or counseling psychology, clinical social work, or marriage and family therapy with a minimum of three years of clinical experience (post-graduate). Must possess Iowa licensure or qualify with adequate supervision. Candidates should have a vital and vibrant Christian faith, integrated with their approach to and philosophy of counseling, as well as experience with and a passion for college students. Preference will be given to candidates with experience counseling men and dealing with men’s issues.
