Kevin McMahan Associate Dean for Intercultural Development
Dr. Kevin McMahan leads the Office for International & Intercultural Development, supporting students from underrepresented cultures both within the U.S. and from around the world in becoming active members of the Northwestern College community. He and his office also focus on developing the intercultural humility, curiosity and competence of all members of the Northwestern community through social and educational programs and collaborations.
Kevin assists with diversity planning and assessment as a member of the Multi-Ethnic Resource Committee and manages relationships with partner institutions overseas. He also leads international recruitment, admissions and financial aid; serves as the primary immigration adviser for international students; and coordinates ESL services to students who need them.
A Wheaton College graduate, Kevin earned a master's degree in education/student personnel, with an emphasis in counseling, from The Ohio State University. His doctorate is in leadership/systems in higher education from Union Institute & University. Prior to joining Northwestern's staff, he was the director of international programs at Seattle Pacific University.
