Northwestern College’s Writing Center helps writers with writing for all disciplines and at all stages of the writing process. We can help you:

- Develop thesis statements
- Clarify assignments—and much more
We can also help you with non-academic writing, such as scholarship applications and cover letters.
Writing Center tutors
The Writing Center is staffed by tutors committed to helping students become better writers, active learners and critical thinkers. Tutors are hired based on the recommendation of faculty members and undergo substantial training. They continue developing their skills by observing sessions, attending workshops and reading Writing Center publications.
Writing Center tutors are not just English majors. Their majors include:

Because of this diverse educational background, they are able to effectively respond to all types of writing, whether it is a personal narrative for College Writing, a research thesis for an upper-level psychology course, or an essay for a scholarship application.
