Summer study abroad programs
Each summer, Northwestern professors lead short-term study abroad trips to other countries, where they teach three- to four-week classes in their academic field. In addition to being led by NWC faculty, the college’s summer study abroad experiences are designed specifically for Northwestern students and feature small class sizes. They also fulfill Northwestern’s general education requirement for cross-cultural study.
Past courses have taken students to China, the Czech Republic, Ecuador, England, France, Germany, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Oman, Romania, Russia, South Africa and Taiwan. Along with field trips to cultural sites, the courses often feature guest speakers who give insights into their countries. Some courses also provide language instruction and the opportunity to live with host families.
