It could happen to you |
Your study abroad experience could lead to a life abroad. Two recent Northwestern graduates were offered jobs with the programs they participated in: Amber Blom ’02 spent two years in Cairo, Egypt, where she worked with the Middle East Studies Program, and Jessica Mueller ’04 worked for the Latin America Studies Program in San José, Costa Rica.

Study abroad
Expand your world
If you’d like an education that goes beyond the four walls of a classroom, come to Northwestern College. As a student at NWC, you’ll have the opportunity to study abroad through a wide array of programs ranging in length from a few weeks to a full semester.
Studying abroad will give you a new perspective of the world—and yourself. You’ll visit places and see sights that before were just words in a textbook. You’ll make friends and learn to understand and value cultures different from your own.
Studying overseas will change the way you think about the United States and give you a greater appreciation for the beauty and diversity of the world God has created. It will also help you become more flexible and self-confident—qualities that are attractive to future employers.
Español, Français, Deutsch …
If you’re learning another language, that’s another reason to study abroad. Language immersion is the best way to become proficient at a language. Our summer study abroad programs can get you started. Semester-long programs can take you further. In fact, Northwestern requires Spanish majors to spend at least one semester studying abroad. And there are plenty of options when it comes to fulfilling that requirement—or learning some other language—thanks to Northwestern's cooperative arrangements with the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities and other colleges.
