Orange City and beyond
Orange City offers a seven-screen movie theatre; coffeehouse hangouts; fast food, traditional and ethnic restaurants; shopping; and an 18-hole golf course. Indoor swimming and ice skating are available at the All Seasons Center in nearby Sioux Center, and hikers and bikers can visit Oak Grove Park near Hawarden. And the Ice Cream Capital of the World is just 25 minutes away in Le Mars. In addition, Sioux City, Iowa, and Sioux Falls, S.D., are home to shopping malls, museums, professional sports, and many more restaurants and theatres.
Or go farther. Student groups have taken weekend trips to canoe Minnesota’s Boundary Waters; hike, rock climb and camp in South Dakota’s Palisades State Park; explore the trendy shops and restaurants of Omaha’s Old Market district; or shop at the Twin Cities’ Mall of America.
