The director of Northwestern’s social work program, Professor Kircher served as a school social worker prior to joining Northwestern’s faculty. She also has experience as a clinical social worker in family services, a child protection center interviewer, a home-based therapist, and a family services/mental health coordinator. A graduate of the University of South Dakota, she earned a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Nebraska in Omaha.
Kircher teaches Human Behavior and the Social Environment, Social Work Profession and Policy, and Theory and Practice II and III. She is a licensed social worker and a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
