Ann DuMez (a.k.a. Annabell)
Resident director of Hospers Hall and campus cottages
712-707-7214
adumez@nwciowa.edu
Hometown: Oostburg, Wis.
College attended: Dordt College, Sioux Center, Iowa
Major/degree: B.A. in communication (public relations/human relations emphasis)
Best residence life memory from your own college days: Living in a hall of 100 very different people, from very different backgrounds. Being on duty and having late night conversations in the lounge while playing Rook. I also really enjoyed our programs of fort building out of cardboard boxes and our progressive dessert nights.
If Hospers Hall were a movie, what would it be? X-Men, because the dorm has people with a variety of talents, ideas, and goals, but when they work together amazing things happen.
Favorite meal at the caf’: Soup on a cold day
Favorite band: Nickel Creek and The Fray
The best thing about my job is … Working with the women in Hospers Hall, and learning about them as unique individuals. The theatre presentations at NWC, the residence life staff, and the freedom to be who I am while doing my job.
The best thing about Northwestern students is … their love for life, their energy, their motivation and the way they encourage one another.
