Themed housing

Students can have a nontraditional residence life experience in a themed house. Themed houses are designated and advised by Northwestern faculty or staff, often at the request of students who want to spend a semester or year living together under a common theme.

Northwestern College themed houses have included:

La Casa Española (Spanish House)

Residents speak only Spanish when at home. They also interact with and serve members of Sioux County’s growing Hispanic population.

Mission House

Mission House residents live with a faculty member who is a former missionary. House members eat meals and study Scripture together and learn more about missions and living in community.

Wilderness House

For wilderness enthusiasts who view nature as a way to get closer to God. Residents spend weekends pursuing wilderness adventures and serving their community.

Not every themed house is available every year.
