Religion abroad

Study Christianity and other religions in countries and cultures around the globe by spending a semester or summer abroad. Northwestern offers semester-long programs in Oman and Romania and summer courses in a variety of disciplines and countries.

Oman Semester

Northwestern's Oman Semester takes students to the Middle East, where their study includes Arabic and Christian-Muslim relations. The program director is a Reformed Church in America missionary at the Al Amana Centre, which seeks to advance understanding and trust between Christians and Muslims.

Romania Semester

NWC's Romania Semester is a partnership with New Horizons Foundation, a Romanian NGO that uses adventure education and service-learning to help young Romanians develop responsibility, teamwork and trust. The semester includes a course in Eastern Orthodoxy.
