Pre-law
Excellent lawyers are characterized by a deep commitment to justice and a broad and detailed grasp of the law. They also possess the ability to think clearly, critically and creatively, and to communicate with ease and precision while speaking and writing. Northwestern’s pre-law program is designed to develop those abilities in students while preparing them for advanced training in law school.
If you’re interested in law, political science is just one of many appropriate choices for a major. More important than your major are the courses you take. You’ll want to select challenging classes that will develop the skills essential for success in law school and for service to society through the legal profession.
Plan to apply to law schools shortly after completing your junior year and make arrangements to take the Law School Admission Test very early in your senior year.
