Ryan Pendell ’07 is in the Master of Fine Arts in writing program at the School of the Arts Institute of Chicago.

Daniel Berntson ’06 is working on a Ph.D. in philosophy at Brown University.

Jared Bearss ’04 lives in Pella, Iowa, where he works with people with disabilities at Christian Opportunity Center. After graduation, he spent a year in Oakland, California, with Mission Year, where he lived and volunteered in a poor, urban neighborhood.

Ajay Eshcol ’03 is working as a cardiology research assistant at the University of Iowa, where he has been accepted into the university’s medical school.

Dietrik Vanderhill ’03 spent four months traveling through Europe after graduation, seeking inspiration for his writing. He currently is applying to creative writing M.F.A. programs. He is planning a trip to either Turkey or Vietnam and hopes eventually to live off his travel writing and fiction.

Gabriel Swersie ’02 is working on getting his pastorate license in the Christian Missionary Alliance denomination.

Benjamin Dose ’01 lives in Spirit Lake, Iowa, where he owns and operates Compute RX, a computer repair company.

Andrew Lee ’00 is attending Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, after working two years as a private investigator.

Darren Van Maanen ’99 is in Barcelona, Spain, where he just completed a training course to learn to teach English as a second language.

After spending two months at the Goethe Institute in Germany, Timothy Wood ’99 earned a master’s degree from the University of Frieberg in Germany, where he majored in literature and minored in French and German philosophy.

Susan Papademetris ’94 earned a Ph.D. in philosophy from Yale University.
