Applied ethics minor
If you pursue an applied ethics minor, you’ll investigate specific ethical problems, such as abortion, euthanasia, genetic engineering, war, capital punishment, world hunger, the treatment of animals and abuse of the environment. The knowledge you gain will help you construct an overall ethical theory and develop principles to govern practices in medicine, business, politics, education and the media.
A minor in applied ethics is an appropriate—and marketable—addition to almost any major. It’s especially well-suited for students majoring in any of the following:
If you have a major in any of the above fields, you may be able to count up to eight credits of your major course work toward the applied ethics minor.
