Move-In

Residence halls

Welcome to campus! Students should go directly to their assigned residence hall. Commuter students or those who are unsure of their housing assignment should go to the Ramaker Center. At the campus post office in the Rowenhorst Student Center (RSC), students can pick up their mailbox key and families can request mailing address information. Students can also pick up their ID card in the student development office on the second floor of the Ramaker Center.

Meet in front of the DeWitt Learning Commons

Parents and students can learn where things are and how things operate prior to the start of the school year. Stops will include the Ramaker Center, DeWitt Learning Commons, Academic Support Center, Computing Services and the Career Development Center.

In order to be eligible for current or future employment on campus, you must meet to complete employment forms. Please bring two forms of identification: your driver's license and your passport, birth certificate or Social Security card.

Bring a lawn chair or a blanket as we enjoy the movie Big Hero 6 together on our campus green. Popcorn and drinks will be provided. The movie will start at sunset (weather permitting).

A complimentary continental breakfast is available for all new students and their family members. Grab some food before heading over to the chapel for devotions.

Join us as we begin the day with worship and a devotional. Instructions for the day will also be given at this time. You will be introduced to your Orientation small groups afterwards.

Language Placement Testing*

If you did not attend a RED101 Admitted Student Day, you are required to complete this placement test to determine how many—if any—language courses you will need to take.

Meet in the plaza in front of the DeWitt Learning Commons Plaza

Transfers, join NWC Chaplain Harlan VanOort and his family for a picnic lunch at his house. This is an event for transfer students only.

President Christy's home (701 Juneau Ave. SE)

We'll join President Greg Christy and his wife, Michelle, at their home for a picnic dinner. Please bring your ID card with you.

Let off some steam by taking part in some fun games on the campus green. We will have Ultimate Frisbee and several other games to help you get to know each other.

Meet with your small group and head over to a faculty or staff member's home to enjoy dessert together. This is a great way to get to know some of the people who work at Northwestern—and most likely won't be the last time an NWC professor, coach or other mentor invites you over.

Walmart Shuttle

We will offer a complimentary shuttle to Walmart in Sioux Center every half hour from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Return shuttles from Walmart back to campus are scheduled for 4:15, 4:45, 5:15 and 6 p.m.
