Unified endorsement
(early childhood integrated setting)

Northwestern is the only college in Iowa that offers an online unified endorsement program, which makes it convenient for working K-8 teachers. Educators can earn a unified endorsement to teach in integrated settings for children from birth to age 8, including preschools, K-3 classrooms, early childhood centers and Head Start classrooms. Teachers with a unified endorsement can also serve as administrators for early childhood programs.

Using our competency-based approach, you can expect to complete the unified endorsement course work within the 2 years set by the state of Iowa. The course load has been planned to accommodate working teachers, with more time-intensive courses offered during the summer.

Scholarships

Educators pursing a unified endorsement may be eligible for a T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood Scholarship. For information or to apply, visit the T.E.A.C.H. website.
