RN to BSN application instructions
Step 1
If you have never applied to Northwestern College before, please apply for admission. If you completed a degree or any classes at Northwestern in the past, simply re-enroll. Applicants to Northwestern's online RN to BSN completion option must be residents of Iowa, Minnesota*, South Dakota or Nebraska.
Step 2
After you have completed your application to Northwestern College, you will need to submit the following application materials to the Northwestern College Department of Nursing. It is recommended that you submit your materials in a timely manner; the first twenty accepted students will be admitted to the RN to BSN cohort.
- Official transcripts from previous institution (minimum GPA of 2.7 is expected)
- Copy of your RN license and AHA CPR for Health Provider certification
- Complete the Department of Nursing application packet
Step 3
Once you have received your acceptance to the RN to BSN completion program you will be asked to deposit $300 to secure your place in the cohort. The deposit will be applied toward software and assessments necessary in the program. You will be asked to provide proof of immunizations and professional liability insurance. You will be registered for classes and provided login information that will enable you to access your online classes, your college email, and MyNWC.
Step 4
Tuition is due prior to each semester you take classes. It is recommended that you complete a 2012-2013 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if you wish to pursue financial aid for the summer 2013 term, and a 2013-2014 FAFSA if you wish to pursue aid for the 2013-2014 academic year. The applications can be found online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Northwestern’s ID number for financial aid is 001883.
Or call (800) 747-4757 and we would be happy to assist you.
