Nursed along
If everything goes according to plan, Rebecca will be among of Northwestern’s first nursing graduates in 2009. She stays busy with classes and clinicals, and is also a chemistry tutor in the Science Center. Rebecca’s parents attended Northwestern, but she chose it because no other college she visited placed as much importance on growing in your faith.

Personalized care
“The small professor-to-student ratio is what makes learning in the sciences at Northwestern so possible and enjoyable. The smaller class sizes enable students to actively participate in class. It also allows the professor and students to have a personal relationship. That wouldn’t be possible at a large university. If you have a question or problem, one of the professors will always take the time to help you; they really care about the students here.”

Faith and healing
“Being a nurse is all about being a servant to others. I’ll be able to show the love of Christ to my patients and fellow health care providers. There also will be times, dealing with sickness and death, when I know God will give me the strength to get through the rough times. I know he will use me in so many wonderful ways to do his work.”

Extra measures
“Northwestern’s nursing program does a wonderful job integrating faith into our training as nurses. In my first nursing class, I was surprised at how much we talked about the connections between Christianity and nursing. Northwestern’s nursing education and training also goes above and beyond the necessary requirements, ensuring we’ll be extraordinary nurses, wherever we choose to practice.”

Good medicine
“You can’t walk anywhere on this campus without people smiling at you. The people here really care about you. It makes you feel like you really matter to someone—like they are your family.”
