The Sioux County Oratorio Chorus, in collaboration with Northwestern's A cappella Choir, will present a concert in Christ Chapel on Saturday, May 3, at 7:30 p.m.
Under the direction of Dr. Thomas Holm, professor of music at Northwestern, the chorus will perform Beethoven’s “Mass in C Major.” Sung in Latin, the piece incorporates choir, four professional soloists and a chamber orchestra in a dramatic and moving setting of the Roman Catholic liturgy.
The chorus has also presented such masterworks as Handel’s “Messiah,” Bach’s “St. John Passion” and Bernstein’s “Chichester Psalms.”
Tickets are $5 for students and $8 for adults in advance/$10 at the door. Tickets can be purchased by visiting Northwestern’s box office between 4 and 9 p.m. Monday through Friday or between noon and 5 p.m. on Saturday.
