Orange City artist to offer classes at NWC

Orange City artist Judy Thompson will offer a series of drawing and watercolor classes for adults in the Korver Visual Arts Center on Monday and Thursday evenings in March.

A drawing course will be offered on Monday nights, March 3–24, from 6:30 to 8:30. The class, “Drawing FUNdamentals I,” will explore basic drawing techniques using a variety of subjects.

On Thursday nights, March 6–27, Thompson will host “Take the Plunge,” an introductory watercolor class. The session will also run from 6:30 to 8:30.

Thompson is a signature member of the Iowa Watercolor Society and the National Association of Art Educators. Her watercolors have received regional and national awards, including two artist residencies with the National Park Service.

Classes are sponsored in conjunction with the Orange City Arts Council and Northwestern’s art department. Registration is $60 per class prior to Feb. 20; registration after Feb. 20 is $70 per class. For more information, visit www.orangecityarts.net or email ocArts@orangecityiowa.com
