Theatre Patrons' membership drive under way

Northwestern College Theatre Patrons’ annual membership drive is under way. The organization is seeking membership donations by Sept. 9 to support the college’s theatre program and students.

Membership rates for the 2013–14 theatre season are $65 for an “Actor” membership, and $125 for “Actor +1” (two memberships). Patrons can also join at the “Director” ($250) or “Producer” ($500) levels.

All Theatre Patrons are recognized in show programs and receive four “Actor” or eight “Actor + 1” pre-paid tickets for the season’s shows. “Producer” members 24 season tickets, and “Director” patrons receive 16 pre-paid tickets. Patrons will be notified prior to each ticketed show so they can call the box office to reserve their preferred seating. Patrons are also invited to a dinner-and-theatre banquet in April. Tickets and the banquet are valued at $39.

This year’s theatre season opens Sept. 21 with “Christians can be Sneaky,” a one-man show written and presented by theatre professor Robert Hubbard. “Still Life With Iris,” a children’s theatre production about the magic of friendship, takes the stage for the general public Sept. 27 and 28. Other theatre productions in the 2013–14 include Sophocles’ “Antigone,” the musical “Man of La Mancha,” and “Arlene: An African Trilogy,” based on the life and ministry of Sioux Center resident Arlene Schuiteman.

In addition, the season will include the RUSH student dance concert, one-acts presented by students in directing class, an evening of hymns and Scriptures, the 19th annual World Premiere Festival, and several student-initiated projects. Details are available at www.nwciowa.edu/nwctheatre.
