Homecoming to include 4K and 8K races

Northwestern College will hold its 18th annual Red Raider Road Race on Saturday, Oct. 1, at 8:30 a.m. as part of Homecoming.

The registration fee is $15 in advance or $20 the day of the race. Community members are invited to participate. Runners and walkers can register online at www.nwciowa.edu/raider-road-race, or by contacting the alumni office, 712-707-7127 or alumni@nwciowa.edu, to request a registration form.

Forms are also available from Northwestern’s alumni office on the third floor of Zwemer Hall. In addition, participants can register the day of the race, beginning at 7:30 a.m.

The race will begin and end on the track in De Valois Stadium. Prizes will be awarded to the overall male and female winners and the first place finishers in each age group.

All racers will receive a Red Raider Road Race performance T-shirt, and pre-registrants will also receive passes to the Homecoming football and soccer games. Door prizes provided by local businesses will be given away after the race.

The Raider Road Race is hosted by Northwestern College’s men’s and women’s track teams. It is sponsored by Northwestern’s Alumni Association and these area businesses and organizations: Joiner Family Dentistry, Northwestern Bank, Orange City Area Health System, Stange Chiropractic, and Van Engelenhoven Insurance Agency.
