Northwestern College’s website has been selected as a winner in a national competition. The site, www.nwciowa.edu, won an award of merit in the Higher Education Marketing Report’s 26th annual advertising awards contest.

The revised site was launched in July with a new look and content overhaul as the result of a yearlong process. It was one of six websites recognized in Higher Education Marketing Report’s category for colleges with fewer than 2,000 students. The site was honored after being judged by a national panel of higher education marketers, advertising creative directors, marketing and advertising professionals, and the magazine’s editorial board. Over 2,500 entries were submitted.

The website, developed by Web Development Manager Dan Robinson and other members of the public relations staff, has received two awards this year. In January, the site won a silver award in the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District Six awards competition.

Higher Education Marketing Report is a monthly magazine covering the marketing strategies and admissions procedures of colleges, universities and schools.

Northwestern’s marketing efforts have been honored by the magazine five consecutive years. Last year Northwestern received a bronze award for its admissions viewbook. The college’s admissions DVD won a gold award in 2009. A series of postcards for parents of prospective students, a magazine ad, and a billboard ad were recognized in 2008. In 2007 an admissions publication was honored.
