NWC to host Hawk Nelson's Live Life Loud Tour

Northwestern College will host the Live Life Loud Tour, featuring Hawk Nelson with Group 1 Crew and A Road Less Traveled, at the Rowenhorst Student Center on Saturday, April 17, at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for the Christian concert are $10 in advance, $15 at the door, and $8 in advance for groups of 10 or more. VIP tickets—including early admission meet-and-greet passes and a T-shirt—are available for $35. Tickets can be purchased at the Dove in Orange City, True Vine in Sioux Center, Family Christian Book Store in Sioux City or Crossroads Book and Music in Sioux Falls. They are also available at www.nwciowa.edu/concerts or by calling 712-707-7295.

Hawk Nelson released its fourth album on the Tooth & Nail label, Live Life Loud, last fall, and it was named one of the top 20 albums of 2009 by www.cmspin.com. The Canadian quartet was named Favorite New Artist by the readers of CCM magazine in 2004, won a GMA Canada Covenant Award for its second album in 2006, and earned a GRAMMY nomination in 2008.

Bassist Daniel Biro says Live Life Loud encompasses the overall theme of Hawk Nelson. “Things can get a little loud with our music. And we’ve always wanted to encourage our fans to pursue their dreams—to not settle for second best in life. Be bold. Let your voice be heard.”

Hawk Nelson’s pop-punk and pop-rock songs have been included in feature films and TV shows such as Laguna Beach, Melrose Place and Smallville. Four of their songs have reached the top of radio charts: Everything You Ever Wanted, Let’s Dance, Things We Go Through and Every Little Thing.

Urban pop and hip-hop trio Group 1 Crew earned a Dove Award for its self-titled debut recording in 2008. The ensemble followed that up with a second Dove Award for Ordinary Dreamers last year.

A Road Less Traveled is a five-member band that earned national airplay for two songs off its debut album in 2008. The Texas-based group released its sophomore recording, Of a Captive Heart, last November.
