Author to read poetry March 23

Author Iver Arnegard will read his poetry in the lobby of Northwestern College’s DeWitt Theatre Arts Center from 7 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 23. A reception will follow. The event is free and open to the public.

Arnegard, who earned a doctorate in English and creative writing from Ohio University, has published fiction, nonfiction and poetry in journals such as the Atlanta Review, Barrow Street, Copper Nickel, Gulf Coast, the Missouri Review and Willow Springs. His writing is informed by the landscapes in which he has lived and worked: Alaska, Montana and the Dakotas.

Arnegard is currently revising his novel, Farland, which is concerned with the plight of American farmers and Native Americans, and how their lives intersect in a remote community on the rim of the North Dakota badlands.
