Northwestern names new alumni director

Jennifer Neuhauser of Pierre, S.D, a 2000 Northwestern College alumna, has been named the college’s director of alumni relations. Currently assistant director of the Office of Accreditation and Teacher Quality for the South Dakota Department of Education, Neuhauser will begin her new position Dec. 15.

“When you meet Jenny Neuhauser, you won’t forget her,” says John Greller, Northwestern’s vice president for advancement. “She’s passionate and articulate about her own Northwestern experience, and she’s eager to engage alumni and connect them to their alma mater. Jenny is a relationship builder. We look forward to welcoming her as Northwestern’s new chief ambassador to our alumni.”

Neuhauser, who has been serving as president-elect of Northwestern’s National Alumni Board, is a doctoral degree candidate in educational administration at the University of South Dakota. An employee of the South Dakota Department of Education since 2004, she previously taught at Valley Christian Schools in Cerritos, Calif., and earned a master’s degree in educational technology at Pepperdine University.

“Northwestern has always held a special place in my heart,” says Neuhauser. “Having the opportunity to work at an institution whose whole purpose is to honor and glorify God is something I could not pass up. I am humbled to be able to use my gifts and talents to help contribute to the amazing experience Northwestern College provides.”

Neuhauser says she seeks to get alumni more involved in the life of Northwestern.

“I hope to work with our National Alumni Board and others to redefine how alumni can be participants with Northwestern today. Working together, I am confident we can create new and synergetic connections between the college and those who have attended here,” she says.

Neuhauser replaces Rachel Van Den Broek, who left the post this summer to take a position in Des Moines as an enrollment counselor for William Penn University’s College for Working Adults.
