Psychology major selected for summer research

Sarah Connolly, a Northwestern College senior psychology major from Mokena, Ill., has been selected to participate in an off-campus research project this summer.

Connolly will be participating in the National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates program at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green. She will be working with Dr. Pitt Derryberry from June 2 through July 28, researching the moral development of adolescents and young adults. The program provides Connolly with a salary and a stipend for living expenses.

Connolly is the third consecutive Northwestern psychology major to be selected for research at Western Kentucky. Last year, Emily Griese worked with Derryberry on similar research. In 2006, Candace Gross worked with Dr. Anne Rinn on gifted-student research.
