Agency seeks comments on nursing program

Northwestern College’s nursing department is scheduled for a fall 2008 accreditation review by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Federal regulations require that accrediting agencies allow for public comment on the qualifications of programs under consideration for accreditation.

Both CCNE and Northwestern recognize students, parents, alumni, faculty, health organizations and the public have valuable perspectives on the quality of the programs that prepare nurses. They invite interested parties to submit written, signed comments on the Northwestern nursing department to: Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education; One Dupont Circle, NW, Suite 530; Washington, DC 20036. Testimony should be addressed to LiAnn Shepard.

Comments should address substantive matters related to Northwestern’s nursing program and should specify the respondent’s relationship, if any, to the college (such as graduate, present or former faculty member, and employer of graduates). No anonymous comments will be considered. Letters should be received no later than Sept. 28.
