Nelson to speak in chapel March 25

The Rev. Roger Nelson, senior pastor of Hope Christian Reformed Church in Oak Forest, Ill., will visit Northwestern College on Tuesday, March 25, to speak in chapel and serve as the keynote speaker for NWC’s Pastors and Spouses Conference.

Nelson’s chapel address is scheduled for 11:05 a.m. in Christ Chapel. Community members are invited to attend. His message, entitled “What Would You Say?” is one of three he will give during the conference on the topic of “Pastor to Pastor: The Letters to Timothy.”

A reflective practitioner of ministry in a postmodern culture, Nelson is a writer, speaker and adjunct professor at Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, Ill. He graduated from Northwestern College in 1982, earned a Master of Divinity degree from Western Theological Seminary, and attended Princeton Seminary.

Originally ordained in the Reformed Church in America, he has served small inner-city churches and a historic East Coast church. He was also an area director of Young Life in Chicago, as well as a Bible teacher and chaplain for high schools in Chicago and Grand Rapids, Mich.
