|Rick Mysse, an active church planter in Southern California, will speak in Northwestern College’s chapel service on Friday, March 14, at 10:05 a.m. in Christ Chapel. Mysse will speak about strengthening missions in churches as well as church planting.
Mysse is the church and leader reproducing director of the Reformed Church in America’s (RCA) Classis of California. He works with RCA churches in Southern California, helping them focus on missions. The Classis of California has grown from 34 to 60 churches in the last five years.
Mysse is also serving as the interim pastor at Community Reformed Church in Escondido, Calif. In addition, he is an adviser to team members of the Luis Palau Evangelistic Association as well as Alpha USA.
Mysse previously served as the pastor of evangelism and outreach of Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, Calif, and as senior pastor of El Dorado Park Community Church in Long Beach, Calif. At El Dorado, he planted two new churches on the same campus: Revolution and DaSom Korean Church. Mysse has been church planting since the 1970s and has helped start more than 40 churches of various denominations across the Western states.
An award-winning graphic artist, Mysse formerly operated the largest design/printing firm in America, specializing in hotel work with clients such as Hilton, Hyatt, Ritz-Carlton, Caesars, Trump, and Universal Studios theme parks in Hollywood and Florida. Mysse was featured on the cover of the Los Angeles Business Journal, and his work has appeared in several trade-related books and publications.
