|Jason Schrock of Bellflower, Calif., has been appointed by Northwestern College to serve in the newly created role of regional development director. Responsible for major donor calls in the western United States, he will begin his new position July 17.
Schrock, a 1997 graduate of Northwestern College, has been serving as principal of Valley Christian Middle School in Cerritos, Calif., since 2000. In that role, he has been heavily involved in fund raising for the school system’s capital campaign.
Schrock taught fourth grade at Valley Christian Elementary School in Bellflower for three years before taking his current position. He also earned a master’s degree in educational leadership at California State University, Fullerton.
“Jason comes with very strong credentials in fund raising and a strong work ethic,” says Jay Wielenga, Northwestern’s director of development. “We’re excited to have him on board as part of the development team. This is a pivotal time in the life of Northwestern as we move ahead with the Imagine capital campaign, and Jason will be instrumental in attracting gifted individuals who can help us fulfill our mission to be a distinctively Christian liberal arts college.”
Schrock, his wife, Sara, and his two brothers all graduated from Northwestern. His parents, Jerry and Lana Schrock of Adel, Iowa, were named the college’s Parents of the Year in 2002.
“I’m humbled and blessed to be able to work for Northwestern, to build relationships with people across the country, and to share the blessing that Northwestern has been in my own life,” says Schrock. “I am excited about what Northwestern is doing, and it’s something I can passionately present to others.”
