Dr. Kimberly Utke Svanoe, associate professor of music, presented results of her research on Iowa elementary vocal music programs and their incorporation of selected classical masterworks at Mankato State University (Minnesota) in June.

Svanoe gave a two-hour presentation, followed by an exchange with a graduate music education class on the topic. The students then taught at a nearby lab school and presented their final papers. Svanoe participated in the critique of their classroom and written work in a collaborative situation with the course's professor.
