Pre-music therapy
Students interested in a career as a music therapist can add a pre-music therapy emphasis to their music major. The pre-music therapy program is designed to prepare students for entrance into a graduate program in music therapy.
Music therapists work in mental health hospitals, geriatric institutions, special education programs, veterans hospitals, and prisons and detention centers. A music therapist can work with psychiatrists and psychologists in diagnostic work, treatments, therapeutics and social interaction training.
