Professor Thorson is a member of the Sioux City Symphony and the artistic director of the Vista Chamber Players, a string quartet that performs throughout northwest Iowa. He teaches private cello lessons and also teaches cello at another area college. Thorson earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, and a Master of Music degree from the University of Arizona.
