Katlyn will serve in Xalapa, Mexico, helping provide medical care and outreach for at-risk urban youth. Por Venir, the neighborhood served by Luke Society, is one of the poorest areas of Xalapa. The ministry’s director, Dr. Jose Luis Guerrero, believes it is necessary to reach the hearts of Xalapa’s youth for Christ in order to provide hope for future generations.

Luke Society is an interdenominational organization of Christian business and health professionals focused on helping indigenious health care professionals minister to people in their culture. Laura will work alongside Rebecca Wasswa, a nurse in Kampala whose ministry includes staffing a medical clinic, training community health workers, ministering to orphans, and encouraging economic development.

Katie will serve at a missionary training compound in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. She'll live with the students, ages 19 to 60, in an “English House,” teaching Portuguese-speaking students English through conversation and tutoring skills. In turn, they’ll teach her about their culture and worship.

Brittany will travel to Queretaro, Mexico, to serve alongside Pan de Vida (Bread of Life) Ministries as they provide for the cultural, social and economic wellbeing of both children in high-risk home situations and children without homes. Pan de Vida provides education, nutrition and medical attention. Brittany may assist with a remedial summer school program, teach English, work in the kitchen, supervise children, tutor, or help with recreation events.

The Orphanos Foundation ministers to abandoned and orphaned children. Serving as one of the foundation's interns, Julia will live in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, to work with missionaries Rick and Kim Beck. She will be involved in prison ministry, distributing food to people who live near the city dump, and reaching out to the Tolupan Indians. She also will work at a day center for children who are poor.

Chelsea will spend eight weeks on an island off of the coast of Athens, Greece, working with a team of others from around the world. Hellenic Ministries hosts many types of camps on and around the island, including camps on the water, for people from Greece and Europe.

Leah will live and serve with a small team in Tres Cantos, Spain. She will assist Rev. Tim Wendel in the work God is doing through him and his family. Her team will minister to children through an English camp that provides the Wendel family with many ways to follow up and bless their community.

Since Indians speak hundreds of languages, many have not heard the gospel. While some translations have been written, the very low literacy rate keeps many from reading God’s Word. Ben will work with Sundararajan and Priya as they share the Bible with those who cannot read by recording Scripture in audio form. Ben will help record the New Testament for the Vasavi tribe.

Compton's education system is poor, its economy is depressed, and violence rates are high. It is infamous for its gangs and rappers. Kristi will serve food to the homeless, clean up the city through work projects, tutor at an after-school program, serve in local churches, learn about urban ministry, and build relationships with the people of Compton.

Working with Ken Spaugh and his family, Kelsey will participate in their holistic ministry in the Patzún region. The ministry extends from the church and seeks to meet the emotional, physical, economic and spiritual needs of the community. Kelsey will build relationships through construction, teaching English and cooking, and playing soccer with the children.

The Dominican Republic has a varied cultural background, with Spanish, French and African influences. Although Catholicism is the official religion of the Dominican Republic, there is still much need for Christian missions. Trevor will assist a dental clinic serving children in the Moca area. He will spend his free time playing sports, particularly baseball, with them.

Carrie will serve at the American Mission Hospital (AMH) in Manama, the capital city of Bahrain in the Middle East. Bahrain is a financially stable country, but there are still many poor who seek medical care at the AMH. In this country that is predominantly Muslim, there are many believers who are afraid of publicly professing their faith for fear of being disowned by their families.

Jen will be working in a small country in western Africa. Jen's team goal is to build relationships as a foundation for sharing the good news. They will host youth skill development classes, giving her the opportunity to teach computers. They will also work on a building project with their missionary hosts and participate in medical outreaches, visits to villages, and environmental projects, including tree planting.

Jessica will serve as an intern at World Relief, a refugee resettlement organization in Seattle. World Relief helps refugees from numerous countries become acclimated to the culture of the United States. As Jessica helps meet the refugees’ practical needs for shelter, medical care and social services, she also hopes to build relationships and share Christ’s love.

The Luke Society in Ghana is based in Kasei, a small village in central Ghana. Jesse will serve at the clinic in Kasei, which began as a three-room hut and is now a sprawling compound on 30 acres that is dedicated to treating the whole person—body, mind and spirit.

Rachel will serve in a medical clinic on the shores of Lake Victoria, Africa, that focuses on meeting the medical needs of women and children. The fishing communities on the islands of Lake Victoria are facing devastating effects of HIV/AIDS and a variety of tropical diseases.

Audio Scripture Ministries (Operation Awaaz)
India

Nathaniel will partner with Audio Scripture Ministries, which works with Bible translators, missionaries and others who seek to provide Scripture in audio format. In India there are many languages spoken, and many people don’t have access to an appropriate translation of the Bible. In addition, there are a significant number of people who cannot read. Operation Awaaz will help meet some of the technical aspects of the recording, which will provide the Vasavi tribe with the New Testament in an audio format.

Robben will work in northern Benin with Dr. Martin Luther Osse, a medical missionary who is committed to serving the people of his home nation with Christ as his guide. In this largely animistic and Muslim area, legitimate medical care can be frightening to many or dismissed in favor of mystical remedies. Robben will assist with medical consultation, nursing, outpatient care, administration, prenatal screenings and immunizations.

Less than 25 percent of the population of Burkina Faso can read and write. There are few schools and in those that exist, it is not uncommon for one teacher to have more than 100 students. Maile's team will work with Global Ventures to construct a Christian elementary school and youth center in the city of Bobo Dioulasso. They will also help with a library project at Maranatha Bible Institute.

Elizabeth will serve as an intern at the Athens Refugee Ministry. Athens is strategically placed along the European Refugee Highway. One million refugees already live in Athens, and more are arriving from the Middle East. The assimilation process for these families escaping violence and persecution is long and difficult. The Athens Refugee Ministry works to support these dislocated families.
