Prison ministry

Students on the prison ministry team spend weekends serving in prisons, boys’ and girls’ homes, and other residential treatment facilities in Sioux City, Iowa; Sioux Falls, S.D.; Omaha, Neb., and other urban areas in our region, where they share the gospel and explore reconciliation issues.

Participation in prison ministries is a great opportunity for students studying criminal justice (sociology), political science, pre-law, social work, psychology and other majors to extend their learning beyond the classroom.

Contact student leader Jonathan Plummer for information about getting involved.

Crossroads Bible Institute
Any NWC student can become involved with Crossroads Bible Institute (CBI), an organization that provides inmates with Bible lessons that can be completed during their time in jail. Students working with CBI correct and comment on the inmates’ lesson answers and send encouraging letters to the inmates they work with. Lesson correcting takes approximately one hour each week. Contact Jonathan Plummer to get involved.
