Physical education major

A major in physical education is designed primarily to prepare individuals to teach physical education in school settings. Students can receive teaching certification in elementary physical education (K-6) and/or secondary physical education (7-12). See the education department for the K-6 and 7-12 endorsement requirements.

Note: For students seeking the secondary teaching endorsement KIN206 Teaching of Sports and KIN318 Methods of Secondary Physical Education and Health are required. For students interested in the K-6 certification KIN317 Methods of Elementary Physical Education and Health is required.

Note: Certification of competency in swimming, first aid and physical fitness must be on file in the registrar’s office prior to the last semester before graduation.
