A 2000 alumnus of Northwestern College, Schmidt earned a Master of Arts degree in health and physical education from the University of South Dakota. He serves as the head athletic trainer for NWC athletes, is an approved clinical instructor, and teaches introductory athletic training, emergency care and coaching endorsement classes.
