Hurricane Katrina
fund raising/donations

Money
Funds raised (as of Oct. 5): $4304
Northwestern College has committed to supporting the relief efforts of our local Siouxland Chapter of the American Red Cross and our denominational relief organization, Reformed Church World Service. Any campus or community member or friend of Northwestern College can send donations (check or cash) for either organization, marked “Hurricane Katrina relief,” to Suite 201 in the Center for Spiritual Formation and Vocation on campus. Hurricane relief donations also can be made directly to either organization.

Teddy bears
Teddy bears collected: 789
Northwestern students partnered with Hugs Across America, Sue Lucarelli's post-9/11 teddy bear ministry, and local churches to collect bears for children affected by Hurricane Katrina.

If you have ideas for campus or community fund raising and want to partner with campus ministry, contact Jill Erickson, director of missions, or Dave Nonnemacher, service learning coordinator.

Donations in the form of a check should be made out to either the Siouxland Chapter of the American Red Cross or Reformed Church World Service. Mailing of checks will occur daily if necessary. Both organizations should be able to provide tax-deductible receipts for gifts. Cash donations will be divided equally between the two agencies and sent as needed in the form of a money order. Tax-deductible receipts will not be issued for cash donations.
