Study humanities abroad
Learning about other countries and cultures is the next best thing to traveling there. Traveling there is better than you can imagine. Recent humanities majors have broadened their horizons and expanded their imaginations through semester study abroad experiences in Australia, Costa Rica, London, Spain and Wales. Gabe Franken ’04 spent a semester of his junior year with the Semester at Sea program, living and studying aboard a ship and exploring 10 countries, including Africa, Cuba, India and Tanzania. Or travel to France, Mexico, Romania or South Africa on month-long summer study courses led by Northwestern professors.
