Jundt delivered a paper entitled “‘Don’t Draw Unless You Aim to Shoot’: Theodore Roosevelt’s Frontier Diplomacy.” He was one of three participants in a panel on “Political Mayhem and Muscle.” The symposium was entitled “Death, Murder and Mayhem: Stories of Violence and Healing on the Plains.”

The symposium was sponsored by the Center for Great Plains Studies, based at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s English department.

Jundt earned a master’s degree in history from the University of Notre Dame. He received a bachelor’s degree in history from Moorhead State University. A member of Northwestern’s faculty since 2002, Jundt has previously presented research on Theodore Roosevelt at the annual meeting of the Western Literature Association and in the pages of the Theodore Roosevelt Association Journal.
