TESL endorsement
Northwestern offers a Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) certificate for education students interested in teaching ESL in the U.S. or abroad. The program includes a wide range of courses in applied linguistics, linguistic perspectives, language development and acquisition, and English grammar. Students pursuing this endorsement may also choose to work with international students enrolled in the college’s one-year ESL certificate program.
