For international students
The following scholarships are available only to international students. If you’re an international student, you may be eligible for other scholarships as well. Use the search page to find scholarships for which you meet the requirements.
William & Joyce Angus Mission Scholarship
Friends of Joyce Angus established this scholarship in memory of William and Joyce for their faithful service to Jesus Christ in China and the Philippines. In consideration of their wishes, three scholarships will be given annually in order of priority to Asian students, international students, or American students planning to enter missionary service. Madeline A. Holmes Scholarship
This scholarship was established in honor of Madeline A. Holmes’s lifelong Christian service to the RCA’s mission and ministry in the Middle East. This award is given to Middle Eastern Arab students, with preference to those from Arabian Gulf countries. More
Ron & Peg Juffer Education Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Ron ’56 and Peg Juffer; Ron taught in Northwestern’s education department from 1967 to 2002. It is designed to assist American minorities or international students, with preference given to a student majoring in education. More
Paul Muyskens Scholarship
This scholarship was established by the Paul Muyskens ’48 family in recognition of his longtime service to Northwestern College. It is granted to a student seeking a career in Christian service. More
Vander Werff International Mission Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Lyle ’54 and Phyllis Vander Werff to assist international students at Northwestern College. The award is for an international student with a personal commitment to Christ who is preparing for Christian evangelism, Christian education, pastoral work or some other form of ministry. More
Jay & Mary Van Hook Scholarship
Jay and Mary Van Hook established this scholarship for international students from an African country; Jay taught in Northwestern’s philosophy department from 1974 to 1999. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and the ability to achieve his/her academic goals. More
William Van Rooyen/Newkirk Reformed Church International Scholarship
This scholarship is funded by the William E. Van Rooyen Trust, which is administered by the Newkirk Reformed Church. It is awarded to international students who have demonstrated financial need. More
Weiss Family Arab Student Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Ray and Dorothy Weiss to assist Arab-speaking international students. Preference will be given to students who intend to return to their home country to serve. More
Keiko Yogi Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established by family and friends in memory of Northwestern international student Keiko Yogi ’96. It is awarded to a junior student with a social work major. More
